Each year, the Department of Animal Science hosts its annual Connecting with U - Animal Science Showcase to celebrate the accomplishments of faculty, students, and alumni in the Department who have made contributions to our field of study. This year's Animal Science Showcase will take place on April 24, 2025 on the St. Paul Campus in the Cargill Building Atrium.
This event is open to alumni, industry partners, students and stakeholders and includes poster sessions, networking opportunities and the important recognition of the Golden Alumni Award recipients. These yearly honorees exemplify and embody the Department's mission to enhance the productivity and well-being of animals to support a growing world population through education, science, and innovation in the industry. The Golden Alumni Award then serves to recognize one University of Minnesota alum who is active in the industry and one alum from academia who have both achieved distinction in their professional lives. They are honored for their outstanding contributions to animal agriculture and exceptional service in their respective fields.
